BEND TRAIL CREW UPDATE
Tuesday, May 19th, 2009The trail crew in Bend has been hard at work this winter. They’ve been developing new lines and making existing lines better. Here’s a post from their blog on what they’ve been up to:
Here we are- summer is upon us- days getting longer- sun getting stronger- the motivation to ride- build- explore- expand- get back into the new riding season- for some of us- this pursuit never stops/ends/changes- for others- different activities captivate and divert our attentions- but regardless- here we are spring approaching summer-
And now the long months of days to ride are here- the winters lack of snow in the lower elevation allowed for some projects to go on- while the riding was limited- but now as the the snow line recedes further and higher into the mountainous elevations- we get the chance to return to our roots- to climb hills- chasing descents- and getting our lungs/legs/guts back- I for one am ready- the urge to be on my bike never ceases- never eases- when the days are dim/short/dark/cold- I long for these coming months- but now that they are here- I rejoice- the longing ceases- and the momentum of another season takes hold- propels me forward- long days in the saddle may still be limited by school/work/snow- but they get better and longer almost daily- and now the projects we left dormant when winter claimed the landscape- are back- giving us direction/reason/purpose- here we go- Season #2 for the CO Freeriders crew to do what we do- and build what we build- I/We hope that the collective vision we share for trail building & the growth of the riding community will continue to remain positive and purpose driven- I/We look forward to another season of changes to the trail network- to bring more spice the the sweetest single track around- and continue to create riding diversity here in Central Oregon-
